Let The Games Begin

The 09/10 ski season has kicked off out west, but here back east we are behind like most seasons. With the first stop of The DEW TOUR this weekend at Breckenridge, I figured it's time to expose the list of names to watch out for this season in Super Pipe and SlopeStyle comps.

JP Solberg
JP is finally healthy this season, so Super Pipe contest just became even more fun because of that. He brings great style, large amplitude and some doubles in the pipe.

Tosh Peters & Max Peters (In the clip Max & Tosh's names are mixed up)
The brothers from Park City each have rather large bags of moves. Both should be in the hunt for this season when it comes to SlopeStyle comps.

McRae Williams
Watch out for this rather tall dude. He has a ton of style and the right moves to get a win this season.

Sean Jordan

This kid's name started to pop up alot at the end of last season. He's got great style plus he's from the east coast!

Rails 2 Riches Pics

What a fun little Saturday that Dane and I had last week at Killington. Rails 2 Riches is one of the best early season comps on the east coast. Here are some pics I took of the event. Great job by LJ for the win, who killed each rail Killington set up for the comp.

2nd place Ian Compton

3rd place Will Wesson

The Set Up (Left to Right): Down-Flat-Down Rail, Box-Gap-Box & Urban Down Rail

LJ For the WIN $3,000!
The Dew Tour is this weekend and it can be seen on NBC, USA, MTV2 and Universal HD.

rails 2 riches

Headed to Killington Saturday for Rail 2 Riches. It's a totally stacked field of skiers and will make for the best rail jam of the month on the east coast. I will post a full recap Sunday evening when I return! Have a great weekend everyone and go skiing!

In the 80s

Killington was really warm this past weekend and the snow was really good for late April. Temps got into the low 80s with tons of blue sky above. The day was started with some hiking over at the Bear Mountain. Outer Limits still has a ton of bump lines to ski with a little hike.

The pipe had about two hits still left to hit which was pretty fun to play around in and we found a micro booter in that area too. The snow thats left over by the pipe might last another week or so in spots.

I Forgot...

Last weekend I got some more skiing in at Mount Snow. For mid April on the east coast it was pretty legit. They had 2 full top to bottom parks open along with 3/4 of the super pipe. Awesome job by Ken Gaitor and his crew at Mount Snow this season!

(Mount Snow 4/17/09 Inferno)

Now on to this weekends fun...Killington will be the place with it being sunny and in the 80s! Plus they are claiming that they will stay open until May 2nd!

"The Wrestler"

Just watched Darren Aronofsky film staring Mickey Rourke. The movie is pretty good watch if you like wrestling or not. On the Plus side Marisa Tomei(Cougar) is a great stripper! The soundtrack is kick ass too if your in to "80's Metal." Give the film a look!

Good Friday

Good Friday was pretty fun day to ski in upstate New York. I made the trip to Gore Mountain in North Creek. The top half of the mountain was pretty nice with great bumps on a few runs and fun groomers. I don't think the locals have seen too many tall tee's before and seemed to ask questions about my attire for most of the day. The park only had 3 hits in with the last feature being pretty fun. It was a Hitch-N-Post and Bonk barrel. For skiing in April with all the rain lately the mountain was an alright time.

So I heard this song in Travis Rice's epic movie "That's It, That's All."
The music video for "We Own the Sky" by M83 is just awesome.
